Homewood Suites by Hilton Topeka

The rooms were beautiful, very clean. Customer service was awesome. The only downfall for The Visit and the hotel ended up refunding money. The hot tub and the swimming pool had too much chlorine in them and caused red eye and coughing fits. They were very sorry and fixed the issues immediately. My sister took my niece and her friends to have a girl's night for her 16th birthday, and she had an awesome time until they went Swimming, but they are fine and happy and can't wait till the next friend wants to have their party there.

Husband and I stayed here for the first time after our usual place was sold out. Pros: location is great, close to restaurants and stores. Close to main highways. Beautiful setting and nice lobby. The rooms are update and nice. Service was good, check in was fast. The grounds are nice, they have a nice outdoor area, pool area is nice. Cons: the bathroom bar style sliding doors, they offer no privacy, are extremely heavy. I could hardly open and close it. The fan in our bathroom did not work, the light switch was raised and cracked on the wall. The shower drain lid was missing and was just a hole. This place looks too new to already have issues. We did not have the breakfast, so we cannot comment on that. We will give it another try in a different room in our next visit and hopefully it’s in better condition.

I had a wonderful Stay. I loved the look of the hotel. The check in and check out process was great. I love being able to unlock the doors with my phone. Wonderful amenities. The room was beautiful. I like having a full-size refrigerator. Great location. It was close to plenty of places to eat. The only negatives were the breakfast was not very tasty, the bed was uncomfortable, and we found a dead bug in the restroom the first night and killed another one in there the next. They do have a policy of not cleaning the rooms each day unless requested. When I stay at a hotel, I liked to feel spoiled. One of things I always liked was to come home after a long day of exploring is to a room where the bed is made, the trash has been dumped and fresh towels. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I would definitely stay there again.

We booked two connected suites for our annual girls vacation for the 6 of us. The rooms were spacious and had everything we needed. It was nice to have the kitchens, even though we don't cook while on our trips. The access to a full size fridge for drinks/ice/left overs/frozen treats was nice. The staff was responsive to our request for additional linens. I highly recommend.

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the past several years and it’s sad to see how much it has gone downhill. The rooms are clean overall - but the cleaning lacks attention to detail. During our stay, the pool was having issues. I know pools can be finicky, so I get it. But there needs to be more ventilation in the pool area (it’s been a problem for years) and it’s disappointing the pool isn’t heated. For a Hilton, I guess I expect more. In the public dining area, there is a hole in the ceiling with insulation poking through and the wallpaper is peeling up high. I’m guessing they are having water issues, but it was sad to see it in such disrepair. Note: If you plan to partake in the free breakfast, get there early. We arrived at 9:10 and breakfast is supposed to go until 9:30. However, milk and juice were gone, baked goods were picked through, whatever was in the cold service area was gone. The attendant kept walking around acting like she was looking for things to replenish, but she didn’t replenish anything. And we weren’t the last family to arrive. I think if breakfast goes until 9:30, it should be kept open and stocked until 9:30. We wanted to ask for more orange juice, but the attendant was already scowling. We just tried to make do. We stayed three nights and only went down once for the breakfast - and we were severely disappointed.

Thus was our first time trying Homewood Suites, and it was great! The service was excellent, very professional and friendly. Easy in and out! The room was very clean and I always check the AC air filters in the hotels we stay due to my asthma. I am happy to say that the filters were clean, like new! I spray them just to kill any bacteria and it has always served me well. That was a clear sign that they pay attention to details! Our room was like a suite and since we had been on the road for a few weeks it was really nice to spread out a bit! We didn't get breakfast but Keith got some coffee and it was good We will definitely stay in another Homewood hotel in the future! What I have learned, trying something new can open some wonderful possibilities!
